Event Logging Service (ELS)
The Event Logging Service (ELS) is the CygNet Software service that maintains a journal of system events by logging system-generated events and user-defined events. There are four types of events: service, operations, alarms, and external.
| Event Type | Description |
|---|---|
|
Service |
Service events are issued from CygNet services regarding tasks such as startup, shutdown, etc. |
|
Operations |
Operations events are issued from current value services in response to operations control messages (such as a UIS command). |
|
Alarms |
Alarm events are issued from the Common Alarm Service regarding set, reset, and acknowledgment of alarms for individual points. |
|
External |
External events are those events that have been manually entered to the ELS. |
See Alarm Event Logging Service (ELSALM) and Logging for more information.
